Don't just watch it happen! Be the Story!
Welcome to the 5th Season of Exchange program at HMSA! It's with great excitement that I open the Call for our Contact Persons, the true engine behind the quality of our exchange program.
Contact Persons have always been the ones who turn an exchange from a checklist into an experience. They are the bridge between our incoming students and the community, the ones who make sure every exchange student feels welcomed, supported, and genuinely lives the experience we promise them.
But being a Contact Person isn't just about logistics, it's about growth. It's a space where you'll sharpen your communication skills, build cross-cultural understanding, and learn what it really means to represent your country and your community to someone experiencing it for the first time. A space where you'll create memories that outlast the exchange itself.
At HMSA, we believe that the exchange program is more than housing and hospital rotations. You are not just organizing a stay, you are shaping how a foreign student sees Egypt, sees medicine, and sees what it means to be part of a global community of future doctors.
If you've ever wanted to create real impact, build friendships across borders, and be the reason someone's exchange becomes unforgettable, this is your chance.
Join us, and let's continue raising the standard of exchange at HMSA-Helwan, one student, one experience, and one connection at a time.
Hurry up and take your first step to STAND OUT! We can't wait to see the experiences you'll help create.
Yours,
Youssef and Eslam

Some people collect souvenirs. I collected souls, stories, and memories that no distance could ever erase
Being a Contact Person meant being the first smile, the helping hand, and the bridge between a new country and a new beginning. It was a responsibility I embraced with pride, but it quickly became something far greater. It was about finding family in strangers and discovering pieces of myself in every cultural exchange. Every airport goodbye carried a promise to meet again, every shared meal became a lifelong memory, and every friendship proved that the world is far smaller than we imagine. More than seasons later, those moments still feel like home.

Since my first week at university, when I joined the Exchange Team, being one of the most rewarding parts of my college journey. Over the past four years, I had the opportunity to experience different cultures, build lifelong friendships with students and doctors from around the world.
Through this experience, I traveled to places I never imagined I would visit and gained countless life experiences that helped shape my personality and broaden my perspective. It also introduced me to different healthcare systems and strengthened my vision of becoming a globally minded physician. Being a Contact Person gave me memories, friendships, and experiences that will stay with me for a lifetime. I would do it again a hundred times over

Being a contact person for incoming exchange students remains one of the most unexpectedly enriching experiences I am still part of today. Beyond the early clinical exposure, what stayed with me was the realization that no matter where someone comes from, you'll always find something to laugh about together. There's something deeply warming about knowing that the memories we built here in Egypt now live in different corners of the world, carried by people who came as strangers and left as friends. It also changed how I see my own country through their eyes, Egypt became vivid and full of life in ways I had stopped noticing. That shift in perspective alone was worth everything.

Being a Contact Person was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. Luckily, I got to do it twice. I helped students from different countries through their hospital training and introduced them to my culture.
I loved showing them just how diverse, rich, and unique Egyptian identity is, and I found myself rediscovering my own country through their eyes.
We shared meaningful conversations, learned a lot about each other’s cultures, and I loved watching their perception of Egypt change throughout the month.
Saying goodbye never got easier. I left with lifelong friendships, unforgettable memories, and I would do it all over again.

Joining the exchange team was truly an enlightening experience. Getting to connect with people from different countries and vastly different backgrounds opened my eyes in ways I hadn't expected , it was an opportunity to engage in meaningful conversations and explore a wide range of topics from genuinely distinctive points of view.
The best part, without a doubt, was the friendships we built and the memories we created together through all the travels and outings. I was lucky enough to visit places in Egypt I had never been to before, and to see familiar ones through the eyes of a tourist ,which made me appreciate them in a whole new way.
And of course, there was the clinical side: attending surgeries and spending long hours in clinics, which added a professional depth to the whole experience.
I'm proud and grateful to be part of this amazing team of CPs.

The CP Experience? Oh boy.
I didn't excpect it at all, this was life-changing. I'm not the same person I was before, and I don't think I ever will be again.
At first, my home was only here in Egypt, the only place I had a family. But after this experience, I found people who feel like more than family, waiting for me at airports in different corners of the world, just to help me explore their beautiful countries, the same way I once did for them. I don't know how lucky I am to have met those people.
I'm full of moments, people, places, laughs I will never forget. I believe every person we meet gives us something we carry with us forever. They say to live is to have a memory, and now I can finally say: what a life I've truly lived. I lived it to the fullest.
Every person I've met still holds a piece of my heart with them, and I can promise you, every single one of them taught me something that stayed with me, something that shaped who I am today.
So do I recommend it? I sure will.
Take your chance. Meet new people. Share your ideas. Learn new things.
And live Your live to its Fullest
