Introduction:
The Uni Survival Kit was designed as a practical, hands-on section of the Egyptian Arabic Guide for non-Arabic speaking medical students at our university. Unlike other parts of the guide, this section doesn’t rely on YouTube videos or external lessons. Instead, it focuses on giving you ready-to-use vocabulary, verbs, and phrases that you can apply immediately in real-life situations on campus.
The goal here is not memorisation for its own sake, but functional communication: the kind of phrases that will make your day-to-day university life smoother and more natural.
To make it even easier, we’ve also included a link to learn Franco Arabic—a writing style that uses English letters and numbers to type Arabic online—which can help you read Arabic words without having to fully study the letters and Arabic unique calligraphy.
